Giclee Print "Adventuress Downwind"
The yacht Adventuress, a 133’ gaff-rigged schooner, built in Maine in 1913 for John Borden. Borden intended to use the boat to catch a bowhead whale in Alaska for the American Museum of Natural History in New York. The boat was later used by the San Francisco Bar Pilots Association to transfer pilots to and from cargo ships near the Farallon Islands. The US Coast Guard used the boat during World War II to guard San Francisco Bay. She is now a National Historic Landmark in Seattle, used for environmental educational programs about Puget Sound by Sound Experience. All DeWitt giclee prints are printed on 120 lb. museum quality paper. Finished image dimensions are approximate, depending on image proportions. If need be, contact us to confirm actual printed image size prior to placing your order or to inquire about alternative sizes. We offer fully customized print sizes of all DeWitt images to suit your needs. Black Cat Studio in Novato, California, has been Jim's only authorized giclee printer since 1988. DeWitt giclees are first or second generation prints sourced either directly from, or as close as possible to the original. This means these are the best possible reproductions of Jim's vibrant, colorful, action-oriented artwork. Each Giclee is quality checked and authenticated with an embossed signature and a Certificate of Authenticity is included.
