Giclee Print "Adventuress Under Full Sail"
The yacht Adventuress, a 133’ gaff-rigged schooner, built in Maine in 1913 for John Borden. Borden intended to use the boat to catch a bowhead whale in Alaska for the American Museum of Natural History in New York. The boat was later used by the San Francisco Bar Pilots Association to transfer pilots to and from cargo ships near the Farallon Islands. The US Coast Guard used the boat during World War II to guard San Francisco Bay. She is now a National Historic Landmark in Seattle, used for environmental educational programs about Puget Sound by Sound Experience. All DeWitt Giclees are first generation prints, sourced directly from the original and fine-tuned by Jay Daniel of Black Cat Studio in Novato, California. Jay has been Jim's only authorized Giclee printer since 1988. They are the best possible reproduction of Jim's vibrant, colorful, action-oriented artwork. Each Giclee is quality checked and authenticated with an embossed signature and a Certificate of Authenticity is included. The image is printed on 120 lb. museum quality paper and reduced to allow for a minimum border. Finished image dimensions depend on the aspect ratio of the original. If need be, contact us to confirm actual printed image size prior to placing your order. We also offer fully customized print sizes of all DeWitt images to suit your needs.
